2012 Total Heliski Season Highlights
As our members in the Northern Hemisphere now enjoy long summer days, we reflect on the 2012 heli ski season highlights. Winter played a few games with us last season, with snowfalls erratic across both sides of the Atlantic. However Total Heliski managed to run several Member Tours and many clients embarked on their dream winter holiday all over the Northern Hemisphere, including the mighty Himalayas.
Europe experienced fantastic snowfalls during the 2012 heli ski season, and our clients enjoyed incredible powder days alternating between off piste guided skiing, ski touring and heli skiing out of our French operator’s rustic back country lodge.
Whilst the USA was a little thin on the ground, this didn’t stop our US clients from receiving their powder fixes in Canada and Alaska over the winter. Canada’s Heliski bookings were up thanks to last season’s epic La Nina, and this season’s lower than usual snowfalls in the USA, making it particularly beneficial for clients to use Total Heliski’s time saving reservation services – letting us do the running around for them.
At Total Heliski, we also got amongst the powder, spending almost 6 weeks this season in Canada before setting out to the Himalayas. (See Hayley’s Himalaya High blog for the tell-all).
And, as spring arrived, our clients were still finding untracked powder by moving the skiing further north to Alaska, Sweden, and even Greenland, with our last client only finishing up last week!
