Total Heliski CEO, Hayley had the pleasure (or was it pain?) of attending the world’s largest trade show in January in Las Vegas – The Consumer Electronics Show. If last year was the year of the wearable sensor, this year was certainly the year of the Drone. And not just any old fly up and around Drone. No, these days, you can be your own Warren Miller movie star and order your own drone to follow you by radio bracelet and film your every stellar powder turn, from different angles. The Hexo was the best drone we found there.
Backcountry, the most talked about category in snow sports is also close to our hearts at Total Heliski. Our company was born from the search for adventure away from busy groomed runs of ski resorts. Whether by helicopter drop onto virgin snow, or earning your turns via hiking and skinning to ride terrain, you’ll need to be equipped with the essentials.
The heli ski world has just gotten bigger, and what a jewel the latest addition is. When most think about Greece, they think beaches and lots of sun, but what most do not realize is that Greece is a very mountainous country, it gets a lot of snow in the winter, and now, we’re bringing you the chance to heli ski it!

Heli ski season is in full swing. We have news from most of our operators that most of their 2014 seats are filled, and first clients face shots and dreams have been fulfilled. However, if you haven’t booked your trip yet (particularly for Alaska or Sweden), don’t despair, we can get you set up quickly.
Skiing or boarding a slope with confidence requires good vision of the slope. As we might remember from school science lessons, the visible light spectrum, makes up the familiar colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Light colour is dependent on wavelength, and in overcast or snowy conditions, an overload of blue light bounces around to create what skiers call "flat light."
We know that real life gets in the way, but last season a very small number of our clients, left their run too late to find a suitable heli ski trip. Many of our top-of-their-game operators are up to 3/4 full by the time next years bookings roll around from repeat bookings. This is great for the operator, (and you want to be heli skiing at these popular operators). But it’s harder for busy clients to book a trip of a lifetime.
