If we had a dollar for every time someone told us they thought heli skiing was- ‘Where you jump out of a helicopter?’ we’d be rich beyond belief!  This misconception from crazy ski film stunts, where extreme skiers do indeed, jump from a hovering helicopter onto unbelievably steep 60+ degree slopes and then ski down shown usually in mind-boggling slow motion.  Whilst this is impressive and ‘Made for TV’, it‘s not at all representative of the sport as it is experienced by over 50,000 participants annually.  For a start, we land first!

So what’s all the fuss about?

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be an expert, which is fantastic, because heli skiing is quite simply the ultimate experience for skiers and snowboarders.  Heli skiing, (which has been around since the 1960's), is off-piste, downhill skiing or boarding that is accessed by a helicopter, not a ski lift, in the wilderness.  Heli skiers and boarders love heli skiing as it allows them to ski endless untracked powder terrain, amazing tree glades, long descents, view breath taking mountain scenery from incredible viewpoints , with just a few others.

The whole experience end-to-end is nothing short of exhilarating.
